What is Life

I realize that this blog wasn't set up to post jokes, however, something was sent to me a few weeks ago that was funny, however, it was also food for thought too. I thought of Troy, wondering if he may be able to use this story in a sermon. If you can Troy, I want royalties....

One day, God created the dog and said:

"Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?" So God agreed.

On the next day, God created the monkey and said: "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span." The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty Long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?" And God agreed.

On the next day, God created the cow and said: "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have Calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this,I will give you a life span of sixty years.

The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life. You want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?" And God agreed again.

Then on the next day, God created man and said: "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years. But man said: "Only twenty years?

Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and
enjoy ourselves.

For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family.

For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren.

And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

Winter movie rentals

I thought I would pass along some movie reviews to anyone who is interested. I see that I am the only one who posts things on here, and it has been a month now since the last posting. Anyway, the other day I was at the video store (or do we say DVD store?) and I noticed some movies that are out that I have seen. Here are my reviews:

Devil Wears Prada **
Although, this movie screams girl movie, it actually was very entertaining and it kept my interest the whole time. Meryl Streep is very good.

Super Ex Girlfriend *1/2
Thought this would be a funny movie, however, it was funny at times, but kept you wondering when the funny parts were coming. David Arquette is not a good actor.

Invincible ****
This was a great inspiring movie. I knew that I would like this movie before I saw it, and it did not disappoint.

Pirates of the Carribean 2 *
When the first one is that good, the second has big shoes to fill. This movie had very little feet.

Happy Feet ***
Although a stupid title, making me think it was for very young kids, it actually comes off with a great story to both kids and adults about the environment.

Akeelah and the Bee ***
Great surprise, a feel good movie.

The Rocket ***1/2
Although some of you are thinking, hockey movie, I would classify it as a great story within a hockey themed movie. If you don't mind reading sublines, you will enjoy it.

Talledaga Nights **1/2
Will Ferrell will always make me watch any movie he is in. This movie had large hype around it from day one, and in a way lived up to it. You will love to say "shake and bake" all the time after watching it.

The Sentinel *1/2
Michael Douglas and Kieffer Sutherland is in this movie about an secret service agent and a plot to kill the president. It had an ok story, but Micheal Douglas being tough and outsmarting people was a little too much for me.
