Apple Picking

Joy and I took the kids to Havelock to pick apples, which really brought me back. Especially tasting them. I ate 4 of them, but no tummy ache this time. I also made sure I stuffed my pockets before getting back in the van. Leah loved climbing the trees and suggested we grow our own and sell the apples to make money. Luke just wanted to keep racing with me up and down the aisles. Erika gave us her official thumbs up, which is an excited, "Coooool!" I gotta tell you though, those trees sure seem to have shrunk since I was there last!

This is what a Bulldog looks like.

Matt played his first regular season game today and the team won 2-1 against Brantford. Matt played against two boys that were his teammates this past summer on his Spring hockey team.

What are your pet peeves?

Here's my top 10:

1. Car commercials
2. Waiting on hold for customer service
3. People who wink when they're kidding
4. When you go to open a new garbage bag and no matter which end you try first to open, it always seems to be the wrong end.
5. Insurance commercials
6. People who keep saying, "There you go."
7. Getting phone calls from people who say, "Yeah, did someone there call here?"
8. Paying for a movie ticket and not liking the movie
9. Habs fans
10. Disney previews (they last forever!)

What are yours?

(Note that I counted from one to ten instead of the other way around so as not to confuse Jamie.)

We need to relax!

I wanted to write this blog back in July and unfortunately, thought I didn't have the time. However, I have found the time at this moment.

I was driving to a cleaning job and I saw a sign up on someone's front lawn saying something about dogs.

As I was driving I realized that some people have to relax. Here is this guy worried about dogs walking up the sidewalk with their owners and peeing on his lawn. Or worse, doing the dirty deed and not bringing along their grocery bags to clean up their filthy mess.

It was on the ride back home that I realized that the sign actually said; "Attention Dogs, Please have a drink on me", and below was a dog dish, I assumed filled with cold water since it was so warm out.

I then realized that the person that needed relaxing was me. Why do we assume such things? Why do we think that people are out to complain before comfort?

I believe that it was a great gesture and I hope that I will do the same for my fellow man and canine.
