What Movies Really Hit You 2
Troy, I thought this was a great topic and instead of just a comment, I wanted to post my own, because it was long and I found something about myself:
6. Mystery Alaska - Brings back memories of playing hockey in St. Phillippe in the freezing cold on an outdoor rink.
5. The Rocket - This movie I will remember for the rest of my life, because I think it was brought out (especially Matt) at the time when we needed a pick me up story about a hockey player that beats all odds.
4. Miracle/Invincible - Both sport movies, however, the thought of beating unbelievable odds and succeeding was amazing.
3. Stand By Me - There isn't too many "boy" themed movies that capture the innosence and adventures of boys in their youth.
2. Seabiscuit - One of my favourite quotes and I have used many times. "you know, sure we lost a few, but you either go home or just keep on fighting".
1. Rocky - The true underdog story. One of the most powerful images in all of movies is a bloody and beaten up Rocky, staggering to his feet and looking up an Apollo and motions him to "come on, let's fight" when he should have been knocked out.
I guess, I am a true underdog at heart.
When you use your skills in a sport, people will remember you as a great sportsman.
When you play with all of your heart, people will remember you as a great man.

I knew that if you or Jennifer posted a list it would bring some more to mind. I can't believe I didn't have Rocky on mine!! That's one of my all time favourites. That scene IS powerful. And personally, I get moved every time I see him calling out for Adrian.
I was also hit by the Rocket. I loved how he didn't do small talk. The fact that he stood up for French Canadians I find so inspiring.
