Teachers to Remember

Who were your favourite teachers and why? For me...

7. Mr. Roberts (Forest Glen) - Math and Phys. Ed. He seemed so hip. Even 80's hip. I think he also helped me like math and I always did well in it after having him in grade 7.

6. Joel Streeter (Sunday School) - Everyone in the class loved him. He was a great teacher.

5. Mr. Lawrence (RHS) - French and Theatre Arts in grades 10 and 12 respectively. He was an effective teacher and had a great sense of humour. But he never lost control of the class.

4. Miss White (Forest Glen) - I'm not sure how she did it, but most of what I remember of history (of all the history courses I've taken in my life) come from her grade 8 history class.

3. Mrs. Gerrard (Mountain View) - Isn't she everyone's favourite? Grade 2. What I remember most about her was that she was calm and never freaked out. Unlike Miss Peters, Mrs. Johnson, etc. etc. etc.

2. Dr. Killian (Asbury Seminary) - He is a retired professor who taught Storytelling adjunct. He was amazing for a lot of reasons. In fact, maybe sometime in conversation I can tell you why.

1. Mrs. Atkins (RHS) - I hated English so much by the time I reached high school and she slowly but surely helped me appreciate it. She had us read To Kill A Mockingbird and Romeo and Juliet. I also remember reading Bob Dylan and Paul Simon songs for poetry.
